Your Defense Against a Worried Life

Your Defense Against a Worried Life

The Psychology of Emotional Release: Why Do We Cry?

In the pursuit of maintaining a neutral and balanced emotional state, free from negative emotions, we have emphasized the importance of this practice time and again. At our Hypnosis trainings, we equip you with the necessary tools to achieve this state effectively. Interestingly, even traditional psychology is starting to acknowledge and align with our theories.

Understanding the Impact of Emotional Release

The ability to maintain a well-balanced and neutral emotional state holds numerous benefits, particularly when it comes to clear thinking. By now, it should be evident, especially for those who have undergone our Hypnosis Master Practitioner – “Regression” sections, that highly emotional states, especially negative ones, hinder our capacity to think effectively.

When we find ourselves consumed by negative emotions, our ability to control our behavior and think clearly becomes compromised. Emotions overpower us, leaving little room for control.

Managing Emotions, Mind, and Life

It is crucial to recognize that emotions affect every individual, whether they are aware of it or not. Emotions are an inherent part of being human. However, it may not be immediately apparent that excessive positive or negative emotions can lead to mental overwhelm. Strong positive emotions, just like negative ones, have the potential to impair judgment and cloud our thoughts.

Surprising as it may sound, excessive emotions, even positive ones, can hinder our ability to express our opinions clearly. Furthermore, these overwhelming emotions taint our thinking process, leaving our minds uncertain and ambiguous.

Consider the reaction of individuals who experience a financial gain—they become ecstatic! Their emotions take hold, and they act in ways they typically wouldn’t. Think of sports enthusiasts celebrating their favorite team’s victory. On the other hand, negative emotions resulting from a loss are widely recognized as a significant contributor to the formation of inaccurate and harmful thinking patterns.

Numerous studies published in major medical journals over the past two decades have established a link between severely negative emotional states such as anger, sorrow, depression, anxiety, and other negative emotions, and the development of illnesses. These emotions have toxic effects on the physical body. Psychological stress impacts the functioning of the brain and body. Prolonged negative emotions can even lead to the onset of physical ailments.

The Power of Negative Emotions

Negative emotions possess significant influence over our conscious thinking and overall physiological well-being, impacting our physical bodies.

In various cultures, it was—and in some cases still is—considered unacceptable to express emotions openly for an extended period (think of the Victorian era). This approach had its merits as it aimed to preserve a balanced, healthy, and highly functioning conscious mind.

However, denying and avoiding emotions poses a significant challenge (referred to as chronic dissociation in Neuro Linguistic Programming NLP and Hypnosis Trainings). Suppressing emotions does not serve us well and requires a substantial amount of energy. In fact, chronic avoidance and denial of negative emotions can contribute to the development of chronic pain.

Thankfully, we no longer live in the Victorian age, and there is a growing emphasis on nurturing emotional intelligence among individuals.

Conquering Negative Emotions

Overcoming negative emotions, for the most part, is an attainable feat. We witness this regularly in our Hypnosis trainings, and our NLP Coaches and Life Coaches employ successful techniques with their clients, even in commercial settings.
